There has been much discussion regarding the disorganised shamble of site vehicles around the vehicle shelter .

Suzie Helson and her team dragged the vehicles across to the fence line , they then mowed the area and removed some of the rubble and bricks hiding in the  overgrowth .

Kevin Elliott followed up and whipper snipped along the edge of the containers to allow airflow under the containers .

Andrew Wilkinson , Natalie Bull , Ray Higgins and myself , then laid four 6+ metre second hand sign like tarps on the ground to stop overgrowth around the vehicles , after which we fired up and relocated all the current working site vehicles , nose in to the containers leaving a metre so as to allow easy access to the engine bays .

At the last big working bee over Easter the troopy was abandoned by volunteers over near open stage . If Susie Helson and myself had not retrieved it by taking a fully charged battery over to start it , it would be under water now that the whole area is currently flooded .

This working bee the slasher was taken off the John Deere and just left on the ground rather than being left on blocks so that air could flow underneath it . Left like this , it will quickly deteriorate and rust.

Also at this working bee , the first site vehicle that someone requested to use so as to be able to drive over to the Hive area , was the just rejuvenated ( $2390 ) Great Wall fire vehicle which is a turbo diesel .

If you do lots of short, low-speed trips , then petrol will be a better option . Diesel engines use a particulate filter to help reduce pollution ,

but this needs faster runs to keep it in top working condition . If you just do short journeys , it will get clogged and harm a diesel car's running .

A volunteer and myself spent two days repairing , panel beating and painting bright yellow paint on the front corners and front edges of the mudguards on the site trailers so that they are highly visable when towing , only for the very next day to have a volunteer run into a telegraph pole smashing in the mudguard and bending the axle on the trailer beyond repair .

At the end of the working bee a door handle had been broken on one site vehicle , also two site vehicles were just left by volunteers where they had stopped working , they just walked away with no responability .

The lack of care and respect for DTE property is staggering and at this rate there will be no site vehicles available for ConFest .
