Dear DTE Directors , Facilitators and members 

Last year while I was working on the front gate and delivering meals to welcome and front gate I noticed sometimes three and up to four lanes of traffic going in both directions around the welcome tent area which placed considerable risk to those volunteers at welcome . I felt that it was an unacceptable risk for DTE to place volunteers in .

I was invited to the ConFest facilitators conference at Bacchus Marsh in July 2019 where I was able to sit down with a number of facilitators there affected by the chaos at the welcome area . We thrashed out ideas and came up with a possible solution to improve the safety at welcome , a better flow of drop off from cars and pickup for the bus , whilst giving free flow for the market traffic , volunteer traffic and fire to and from the woodshed .

At the September 2019 working bee John found a large clear opening in the Box creek tree line a little North of the front gate container .

At the beginning of the March 2020 working bee local contractors Richard started grading the new road while Jacko supplied limestone fill and sand to top of the road to keep the dust down .

All this work was completed with time to spare before the site was locked down and a sign was put up on the front front gate .

However the new ticket office double front gates and drainage pipe at Box creek still need to be done.
