Harry Penrith was a stolen generation Aboriginal, after ConFest he took the name of his great grandfather Burnam Burnam, which means Great Warrior.

Burnam was responsible for bringing Bill Snow to ConFest. They became friends after the 1979 Berri gathering where a tug of war over Bill Snow’s (of BUGGA UP fame) then girlfriend developed and  resulted in neither winning, they ended up becoming lifelong friends in the process. Bill funded Burnam’s protest during the 1988 Australian Bicentennial celebrations where he planted an Aboriginal Flag in front of the White Cliffs of Dover and claimed England on behalf of Australian Aboriginals. He used theatre of the absurd to highlight the absurdity of a country claiming an entire continent for itself. It became international news that brought attention to the conditions of Aboriginal Australia.
